My Awesome Hat from Phara:

And the adventures in fair isle. Here’s what I started with – I knit the hem in the round with the steek stitches at the beginning of the round, and an increase at the beginning and decrease at the end for the “bias” part.

I put both sides of the tube (live stitches) on holders.

Next, I added a row of single crochet on either side of the center steek stitch, and started cutting!  What’s nice about crochet steeks is that once you’re ready to start cutting, it’s completely obvious exactly what you’re supposed to cut.

After cutting and stitching down the extra fabric from the steek, I grafted the live stitches together, and it became the body of the sweater.

Finally, I picked up stitches on one of the edges to keep knitting the bodice. And this is where I am now.
